The technology which we have today is truly magnificent and allows us great ease with a large portion of our lives, however it has many drawbacks as well that impact our society negatively as the issues it creates only continue to grow.
An example of this is the invasion of privacy that technology has created. You can no longer have a phone conversation without the possibility you are being monitored or even open a web page without it being recorded. This forces people to be careful of what they are searching on the internet no matter how innocent it may be, because taken out of context it could server them huge issues in the future. There are also satellites with the capability to monitor the ground with surprising clearness and precision which are a huge invasion of privacy because your every move could even be recorded.
However while there are many drawbacks to personal privacy with our technological advances there are also many beneficial sides such as the ability to capture criminals with much more ease, or by simply protecting the values of small children. A lot of the privacy issues we have I dont think should be looked at as done on purpose just to get deep into someones personal life and control them, but as a way to protect innocent people. I am not saying people never use technology for malicious reasons but in most cases it was not their designed purpose.
Technology is an amazing field of discovery and exploration that will only continue to expand as humans grow as a culture. while there will be many drawbacks, I believe that the advantages will always outweigh the disadvantages.
