Should reasoning be taught in primary school?
To an extent it should be, The skill of reasoning is extremely important and could greatly help many kids through the rest of their schooling. The brain is still in early development in primary school so it is still developing the majority of the reasoning portion so their reasoning is often overcome by the want for a piece of pizza instead of wantinbg to do homework. However since the brain is still so young and in early development at that age, it is also almost like a giant sponge for schooling and information. So if reasoning were to be taught at any age it would more than likely be best to teach it while the child is still young and able to develop those reasoning skills into their everyday life instead of at 30 when you have such a set repetition that breaking it can throw off your entire day with just one activity.
I believe that reasoning should be taught in primary school, but only in small amounts. Overloading the kids with too much reasoning practice could potentially be extremely stressful and just not even fun as that part of the brain hasn't developed yet so its difficult to fully use and access it. Reasoning could potentially be one of the most important things to be taught in primary school that will teach kids that they need to do their homework before video games, or that they shouldn't spend all their money they just spent their entire weekend earning on a bag of skittles, however delicious they may be. Reasoning classes are a pretty good idea and would be very interesting to see how they actually worked out in the end, however they would need to be limited on how much stress could be put on the kids through these classes.
